Multi-spectrum protection

This product protects against UVA, UVB and high-energy visible light (blue light). Some formulas also provide infrared-A protection via antioxidant actives.

Function: Sun protection

Niacinamide

Vitamin B3 - one of the most versatile actives, working on pores, pigment and the skin barrier.

Function: Can visually minimise pores, ease pigment spots, strengthen the skin barrier and ease redness.

Allantoin

Plant-based active from the comfrey root that can soothe the skin and support cell renewal.

Function: Can ease irritation and redness, supports regeneration and makes the skin softer.

Glycerin

One of the best-researched humectants - draws water from the air and binds it in the skin.

Function: Can strengthen the skin barrier, bind moisture and relieve feelings of tightness.

Application

Morning as the last step of your skincare routine generously apply to face and neck. The mattifying formula controls shine - especially suitable for oily and combination skin.

Can be worn alone or under make-up. Reapply every 2 hours in direct sunlight. Water resistant for approx. 40 minutes.

Does Face Shield Matte stay matte all day?

The mattifying formula absorbs sebum. For very oily skin, top up at midday with Brush-On Shield. For combination to normal skin, the matt effect lasts all day.

How long does the matte effect last during the day?

The matt effect lasts 4 to 6 hours, depending on sebum production. For very oily skin, touch up at midday with a mattifying powder or Brush-On Shield. For combination skin it often lasts through the full day.

Is niacinamide plus a matte formula too much for blemish-prone skin?

No, on the contrary. Niacinamide regulates sebum and calms, the matte formula prevents shine, zinc oxide has an anti-inflammatory effect. The combination is specifically designed for blemish-prone skin — this is the target group.

Can I use Face Shield Matte daily, even with sensitive skin?

Yes, daily use is well tolerated. Niacinamide, allantoin, and bisabolol calm the skin. For redness-prone skin, consider Face Shield Classic or All Calm instead — the mattifying silicones in Matte can occasionally feel occlusive on very reactive skin.

Difference between Face Shield Matte and a classic powder sunscreen?

Powder SPF is drier and more prone to flaking, often visibly noticeable. Face Shield Matte is a fluid formula that applies evenly, covers seamlessly, and does not look cakey. Powder SPF is better as a midday top-up; Face Shield Matte is the morning application.

Instructions for use

For external use only. Do not apply to damaged or injured skin. Avoid eye contact; rinse with water if contact occurs. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if a skin rash develops. Keep out of reach of children. Seek medical advice or contact poison control if swallowed.
Apply generously (2 mg/cm²) and at least 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating. Avoid direct sun exposure between 11am-4pm. Wear protective clothing, hat and sunglasses.
