Frequently asked questions

Is Colorescience now doing anti-ageing too?

Yes. Peptides that stimulate firmness. Apply in the morning before sunscreen. With this, Colorescience has expanded beyond SPF into active skincare — the brand's strength remains its sun protection, but the peptide serum complements it as a morning treatment step.

What are peptides and how do they work on collagen?

Peptides are amino acid chains — smaller protein building blocks. Palmitoyl Tripeptid-5 (in Pep Up) can signal the skin to produce more collagen. The skin interprets the peptide as a fragment of degraded collagen and responds by increasing collagen production. The effect is subtle but builds up over weeks.

Why care for the neck with peptides too?

The neck ages faster than the face — thinner, more sensitive, often neglected. Collagen loss and UV damage are just as pronounced there, but most skincare routines end at the chin. Pep Up is specifically formulated for face and neck — the formula is gentle enough for the thinner skin of the neck.

How do I combine Pep Up with a retinol routine?

Pep Up is a serum, ideal in the morning or on non-retinol evenings. Apply to slightly damp skin after cleansing, then moisturiser, then SPF (in the morning). On retinol evenings: apply retinol after cleansing, then moisturiser — no Pep Up needed. Avoid doubling up active ingredients unnecessarily.

When do I see first results with Pep Up?

Hydration and freshness: immediately to week 1. The hyaluronic acid plumps your skin so the texture feels smoother. Firmness effect from the peptides: visible after 6 to 8 weeks of consistent daily use.

About the brand

Colorescience specialises in mineral sunscreen - from tinted fluids and powder brushes through to lip care with SPF. Because the products filter in a purely mineral way, they sit on top of the skin rather than penetrating into it. This makes them particularly well tolerated by sensitive skin or skin prone to redness. Many products combine UV protection with a light tint, so that you take care of skincare and make-up in one step.
