Frequently asked questions
What is the Active Serum suitable for?
For skin that is prone to blemishes and pigmentation spots and is also showing first fine lines. It contains extracts of willow bark, sugar cane, bilberry and a mushroom, plus arbutin for a more even-looking complexion. The sugar cane and willow bark extracts gently exfoliate, so pores can look finer and the complexion clearer.
Can I use the Active Serum on sensitive skin?
It may tingle at first, which is normal. Apply 3 to 4 drops in the evening after cleansing. For very sensitive skin, the Hydra-Cool Serum is the better place to start.
What do I apply after the Active Serum?
A moisturiser. The serum is light and watery and does not replace a cream.
Let it absorb briefly, then apply your moisturiser. We stay with iS Clinical for this, because the products of one brand are designed to work together. If you use the serum in the morning, finish with sun protection.
Who should use the Active Serum and who should not?
It is a good fit for combination skin and skin with high sebum production that is prone to blemishes or pigmentation spots, and for mature skin with first lines. If your skin is dry, the moisturiser you apply afterwards can be a richer one.
If your skin is irritated right now, wait until it has calmed down. If your skin is very sensitive, start every other evening or begin with the Hydra-Cool Serum.
Apply 3 to 4 drops in the evening after cleansing.
Can I combine the Active Serum with retinol?
Not on the same evening. The sugar cane and willow bark extracts gently exfoliate, and retinol also challenges the skin. Together this can be too much; redness and a feeling of tightness are typical signs.
Alternate evenings: Active Serum one evening, retinol the next.
