Why only 0.3% retinol?
Because the entry level with retinol should always be low. 0.3% is sufficient to activate cell renewal without overstressing the skin. For many people 0.3% is already the ideal long-term concentration.
What is a retinol emulsion and why is that better than a serum?
An emulsion is a mixture of oil- and water-soluble substances - just like a light cream. This means the retinol is embedded in a moisturising base that buffers the irritation potential - particularly suitable for sensitive skin or as a first retinol product.
Can I use Retinol+ Emulsion with vitamin C together?
Technically yes, but time-shifted. Vitamin C works optimally at acidic pH (3 to 4), while retinol is more stable at neutral pH. Morning: vitamin C. Evening: retinol emulsion. Both work better this way than together.
I have sensitive skin - is 0.3% still too much?
No, 0.3% is the mildest retinol concentration for daily use. Higher concentrations (0.5%, 1%) are more intensive and require more tolerance. For very reactive skin: start once per week and slowly increase.
When do I see first results with retinol?
Cell renewal starts immediately, but you feel the activity after 3 to 6 weeks as a smoother complexion and finer texture. Visible wrinkle reduction and pore refinement take 8 to 12 weeks.
