The most important ingredients
This product protects against UVA, UVB and high-energy visible light (blue light). Some formulas also provide infrared-A protection via antioxidant actives.
Function: Sun protection
Naturally occurring acid (also produced by yeasts on the skin) with multiple effects.

Actually a liquid wax, not an oil - very similar to the human skin's lipid layer.

Why such high light protection for pigmentation spots?
The measured protection is very high. With pigmentation disorders maximum protection is crucial because UV activates the pigment cells even at low doses. SPF 130 is not a cosmetic excess but a medical necessity for active depigmentation treatment.
Why such a high light protection factor - is that really necessary?
With melasma and pigmentation disorders, UV is the main trigger - even small doses are enough to reactivate pigment. A high SPF combined with iron oxides (blue light protection) prevents this reactivation and makes all other depigmentation care work more effectively.
Can I wear Mesoprotech Melan 130 daily or only after treatments?
Both. During active depigmentation care (cosmelan 2): daily mandatory. After completing the care: continuing daily is the recommendation - pigmentation has a high risk of relapse under UV.
Does Mesoprotech Melan 130 also contain depigmenting actives or only filters?
Both. The azelaic acid in the product also has a weak depigmenting effect - that is a bonus component. The main function is maximum UV and blue light protection, but the small additional care benefit is intended.
Is the texture heavier than a lighter sunscreen?
The texture is creamier than Mesoprotech Water Veil SPF 50+, but not unpleasantly heavy. That is due to the higher UV filter concentration required for SPF 130. For daily use it is very tolerable - most users describe it as a rich but comfortable cream.
