The most important ingredients

Retinol

The gold standard in anti-ageing - a form of vitamin A that accelerates skin renewal.

Function: Can support the skin's resilience, ease wrinkles, brighten pigment spots and refine skin texture.

Lactic acid

Gentle fruit acid (AHA) that occurs naturally in the skin - exfoliates and provides moisture at the same time.

Function: Can loosen dead skin cells, regulate the pH value and provide the skin with moisture.

Bakuchiol

Plant-based alternative to retinol from the seeds of the babchi plant - similar effect, but better tolerated.

Function: Can support skin renewal and ease fine lines, without the typical retinol irritation.

Vitamin E

Fat-soluble antioxidant - protects the cell membranes and works synergistically with vitamin C.

Function: Can neutralise free radicals, strengthen the skin barrier and boost the effect of vitamin C.

Application

Evening apply a pea-sized amount to clean, dry skin of face and neck. Avoid the eye area.

Start with 2-3x per week and increase with good tolerance. Always use sunscreen during the day (minimum SPF 30) use.

Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding - please consult your doctor beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

Who is 1% retinol for?

Only for retinol-experienced skin that tolerates 0.3% without problems. Apply in the evening, always SPF 50+ in the morning.

Can I start directly with 1% retinol or do I need to practise first?

No, do not start directly with 1%. Your skin needs at least 4 to 8 weeks of experience with 0.3% or 0.5% retinol before 1% is appropriate. Without preparation the irritation risk is too high.

How often should I use the 1% retinol serum?

Start once per week in the evenings, increase to 2 to 3 times weekly after 2 to 3 weeks. Wait 3 to 4 days between applications so skin can fully recover. Maximum 5 times per week, never daily in the beginning.

What side effects should I expect?

A retinol reaction is normal: redness, mild flaking, tingling. This subsides after 2 to 3 weeks when your skin has built up tolerance. If it does not improve or gets worse: reduce frequency or switch back to 0.3%.

Can I combine the 1% retinol with other active ingredients?

No. On evenings with 1% retinol you only need moisturising care. No vitamin C, no AHA/BHA, no peptides - your skin has enough to process. The next evening you can use other actives.
