Frequently asked questions

Does this eye cream help against dark circles?

The Eye Brightening Crème contains retinol and biomimetic peptides that support the microcirculation around the eyes. Dark circles often arise from slowed blood flow under the thin eye skin - that is exactly where it acts.

Apply in the evening, dose sparingly. For deep wrinkles around the eye, the Intense Eye Crème is the better choice.

How does the Eye Brightening differ from the Intense Eye Crème?

The Eye Brightening is lighter and specialised in brightening and reducing puffiness - ideal for light to moderate dark circles and morning swelling. The Intense Eye Crème is richer and targets deep wrinkles and fine lines.

Choose according to need: dark circles and puffiness? Eye Brightening. Deep wrinkles around the eyes? Intense Eye Crème. Or combined: Eye Brightening in the morning (light), Intense Eye Crème in the evening (rich) under a night cream, so that both concerns are covered.

When can I see first results on dark circles?

The optical effect (skin looks brighter, puffiness reduced) often shows after 1-2 weeks, especially in the morning. This is the immediate brightening effect through the light texture and possible de-puffing action.

The long-term effects - firmer, smoother eye skin with fewer fine lines - build up over 6-8 weeks, because the retinol supports new collagen formation. Important: dose sparingly (a pea-sized amount per eye) and dab in gently, don't rub, so that the thin eye skin is not irritated.

Can I also use this cream at night under another cream?

Yes, good idea. You can use Eye Brightening morning and evening. In the evening you could apply it under a rich night cream, so that the actives work longer and the skin gets deeper moisture.

Application order: toner → Eye Brightening → serum (optional) → night cream. The light texture of the Eye Brightening layers well under richer products. Or use it alone in the morning and switch to the Intense Eye Crème in the evening, depending on your need and budget.

Is this eye cream also suitable for very sensitive eye skin?

Mostly yes. The formulation with retinol is mildly dosed, and the soothing ingredients like shea butter and glycerin are gentle. Still, the eye skin is thin - test sparingly first (1-2 times a week) and observe for 3-5 days.

If you get redness or irritation, reduce to once a week or switch to a product without retinol. For ultra-sensitive eyes, pure moisture eye gels could be the better choice, so that your skin doesn't show overreactions.

About the brand

ZO Skin Health was developed by Dr. Zein Obagi - one of the world's most renowned dermatologists, with over 35 years of research in Beverly Hills. His principle: the skin is not “repaired” from the outside; instead, the cells themselves are activated. Because collagen, elastin and cell renewal decline with age, ZO products work in a targeted way across different skin layers - as system skincare following established treatment protocols, not as a single product.
