What does Daily Power Defense do in my routine?
It is the foundation of the ZO Skin Health routine. The ZO Skin Health RRS2 complex of edelweiss and horehound stem cell cultures (plant meristem cells) plus retinyl palmitate (a gentle vitamin A form) strengthens the skin barrier and protects against environmental influences. Its main task: all subsequent products work better and irritate less. In the morning as a base under sunscreen, in the evening before retinol products.
Why before the retinol and not after?
Daily Power Defense prepares the skin barrier. A strengthened barrier absorbs retinol in a more controlled way and reacts with less irritation. Without this preparation, retinol penetrates uncontrolled - which increases redness and flaking unnecessarily.
Does Daily Power Defense replace a moisturiser?
No, it is a protective serum, not a cream. It strengthens the skin barrier (via the ZO Skin Health RRS2 complex), protects against environmental stress and prepares the skin for retinol. A light moisturiser afterwards locks in the moisture, so that the serum works optimally.
For dry skin: Daily Power Defense + light cream + oil or rich night cream. For oily skin: Daily Power Defense + a light moisturiser is often enough on its own.

Is Daily Power Defense suitable for sensitive skin prone to redness?

Panthenol and glycerin soothe additionally, omega-6 ceramides strengthen the lipid barrier, and retinyl palmitate is milder than stronger retinol.
