Why does this serum have a pH of 3.0?
Because L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is most stable and effective at low pH. pH 3.0 is within the optimal range where L-ascorbic acid penetrates the skin and can develop its full effect.
pH 3.0 sounds very acidic - why is that safe?
pH 3.0 is acidic, but only temporarily active on your skin. Your natural skin barrier is pH 5.5 (mildly acidic) - it quickly neutralises the pH of the serum after application. The irritation risk is manageable for experienced skin.
In what way is L-ascorbic acid better than other vitamin C forms?
L-ascorbic acid is the active, pure form of vitamin C - your skin can use it immediately. Other forms (ascorbyl glucoside, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate) first need to be converted in the skin, which reduces their effectiveness.
Can I use the Super Serum Advance+ daily or only a few times per week?
Daily is possible, but with caution. The Super Serum is intensive: pH 3.0 plus 15% L-ascorbic acid plus kojic acid. Start 2 to 3 times per week and increase to daily if your skin tolerates it well. Always morning use, always SPF afterwards.
