These eight products are an original ZO Skin Health protocol, not a suggestion of our own. We selected one of the protocols and adopted it unchanged. Visibly enlarged pores depend on several factors at once, which is why the protocol works in three stages: preparation, active ingredients, protection.

This set is the version without retinol. For a stronger option, choose the Retinol Pore Set.

  1. Getting Skin Ready (GSR)

    GSR is the foundation of every ZO Skin Health routine: cleanse, exfoliate, tone. GSR normalizes skin functions and prepares the skin so that the following active ingredients are absorbed optimally. Without this preparation, much of the effect is lost.

  2. Activation

    This is where the best comes together. Complexion Clarifying Serum reduces excess sebum and clarifies, Daily Power Defense strengthens the skin barrier, Instant Pore Refiner refines pores and mattifies. None of these products contains just one active ingredient, each contains a whole bundle.

  3. Protection

    The last step of every ZO Skin Health protocol is protection. The mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50 protects against UV radiation. For oily skin in particular, light, mattifying protection is the right choice.

Why a set and not the individual products?

Because it lets you get more out of every product and saves you doing your own research. The six components are matched in pH, strength and order, just as a balanced diet does more than a single vitamin. You get the complete routine and pay less than when buying the items individually.

What makes this set better than a single product for large pores?

Most people don't know this: ZO Skin Health fundamentally does not work with individual creams but with protocols, meaning fixed sequences in which each product has a task and is matched to the next. A single cream conceals briefly, a coordinated system clarifies, refines and mattifies lastingly. This set is exactly the original pore protocol.

What is the difference from the manufacturer's small sets?

The kits ZO Skin Health packages itself are officially intended as a travel and trial format, meaning smaller sizes for on the go. This set contains the same protocol logic in full size, for daily use over weeks. For trying things out, the manufacturer's kits are the way in; for the long-term routine, this set.

How does the application work day to day?

Clear and in three steps: prepare, care, protect. The exact order for morning and evening is right on the page, so you don't have to look anything up. In everyday use, that means a few minutes morning and evening.

How quickly can you see results?

A more matte complexion often shows after just a few days, finer-looking pores take several weeks of consistent use. Skin renews itself in cycles of about six weeks, with more noticeable results after three to four cycles.

How to use

How to use the set

The list below is also the order of application. Stick to it, it is part of how the set works.

It follows the texture, from the lightest to the richest. Light formulas with smaller molecules absorb first; rich textures go on top and would otherwise shield them.

Behind it is always the same pattern. First the preparation: cleansing, exfoliating, toning. Then the active ingredients in the order given. In the morning, sun protection comes last; in the evening, it is left out.

Morning

  1. Exfoliating Cleanser: a small amount on damp skin, gently massage in for about one minute, rinse off with lukewarm water.
  2. Exfoliating Polish (two to three times a week): a small amount, massage in, rinse off thoroughly. Exfoliation belongs in the morning.
  3. Complexion Renewal Pads: one whole pad, using both sides actively over face and neck until no moisture is left on it, the last step of Getting Skin Ready.
  4. Complexion Clarifying Serum: a small amount, spread evenly.
  5. Daily Power Defense: one to two pumps, avoiding the eye area.
  6. Instant Pore Refiner: a small amount on areas with visible pores.
  7. Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50: apply generously as the last step, reapply every one to two hours when spending time in the sun.

Evening

  1. Exfoliating Cleanser: as in the morning, a small amount, massage in, rinse off.
  2. Complexion Renewal Pads: one whole pad over face and neck.
  3. Complexion Clarifying Serum: spread a small amount evenly.
  4. Daily Power Defense: one to two pumps.
  5. Instant Pore Refiner: a small amount on the pore areas.

Once or twice a week in the evening as an additional enzyme peel: after cleansing, apply a thin layer of Enzymatic Peel and leave on for one to three hours or overnight. Exfoliation with Exfoliating Polish stays reserved for the morning.

Notes on application

Contains salicylic acid (BHA). May increase photosensitivity - use daily sunscreen. Do not apply to open wounds or inflamed skin. Not suitable for children under 3 years. Do not use if known hypersensitivity to salicylates.
Contains glycolic acid (AHA). Increases skin photosensitivity - use daily sunscreen (SPF 30+). Do not apply to damaged skin. Reduce or discontinue use if severe irritation occurs.
Contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) which may increase skin photosensitivity. Use sunscreen, limit sun exposure and wear protective clothing - during use and for one week afterwards.
Contains small amounts of vitamin A compounds (retinyl palmitate). Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Daytime sunscreen with at least SPF 30 recommended. For external use only.
