The most important ingredients

Retinol

The gold standard in anti-ageing - a form of vitamin A that accelerates skin renewal.

Function: Can support the skin's resilience, ease wrinkles, brighten pigment spots and refine skin texture.

Lactic acid

Gentle fruit acid (AHA) that occurs naturally in the skin - exfoliates and provides moisture at the same time.

Function: Can loosen dead skin cells, regulate the pH value and provide the skin with moisture.

Bakuchiol

Plant-based alternative to retinol from the seeds of the babchi plant - similar effect, but better tolerated.

Function: Can support skin renewal and ease fine lines, without the typical retinol irritation.

Vitamin E

Fat-soluble antioxidant - protects the cell membranes and works synergistically with vitamin C.

Function: Can neutralise free radicals, strengthen the skin barrier and boost the effect of vitamin C.

Application

Evening apply a pea-sized amount to clean, dry skin of face and neck. Avoid the eye area.

Start with 2-3x per week and increase with good tolerance. Always use sunscreen during the day (minimum SPF 30) use.

Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding - please consult your doctor beforehand.

Frequently asked questions

0.3% or 1% retinol - which should I start with?

Always with 0.3%. Your skin needs to get used to retinol. After 4 to 8 weeks without a strong reaction you can switch to 1%. Rushing this only leads to irritation and setbacks.

What is the difference between 0.3% and higher retinol concentrations?

0.3% is the gentlest entry dose. It already delivers anti-ageing effects (more cell renewal, finer pores, slightly smoother skin) but with a manageable irritation potential. Higher concentrations work faster but require more tolerance.

How do I introduce Skinretin 0.3% step by step?

Week 1 to 2: once per week (Friday or Saturday) so skin has time to recover over the weekend. Week 3 to 4: twice per week. From week 5: every other evening. From week 8: daily if your skin tolerates it well.

What are normal reactions in the introductory phase?

The first 1 to 2 weeks are normal: slight redness, dryness, possibly gentle flaking. That means retinol is working. If the reaction is strong (burning, strong redness, much flaking) reduce the frequency or pause.

Can I combine Skinretin with AHA/BHA?

No, not simultaneously. Retinol plus AHA/BHA together is too aggressive (over-exfoliation, barrier damage). Instead alternate: retinol one evening, AHA/BHA the next. A minimum of 2 days between the two types.
